PA6 GF40 | 40% Glasvezel Versterkt Nylon 6 - Nylon Plastiek

PA6 GF40 Material and Grade Overview

PA6 GF40 is nylon 6 reinforced with 40% glass fiber for injection-molded parts that need higher stiffness and load capacity than lower-glass PA6 grades. The exact grade still matters: heat stabilization, impact modification, color, moisture conditioning and test conditions can change the final result.

  • Use it for: structural housings, brackets and equipment parts where rigidity and dimensional control are important.
  • Check before approval: load, temperature, moisture, impact, surface requirements, fiber orientation and warpage.
  • For purchasing: confirm the grade-specific TDS, required documents, quantity and destination before quotation.

PA6 WHG40A Datasheet Values

The values below come from the WanHan PA6 WHG40A technical data sheet supplied through the manufacturer download center.

Eigendom Typische waarde Testnorm
Tensile strength 185 MPa ISO 527-2
Flexural modulus 8,500 MPa ISO 178
HDT 180 °C ISO 75-2/B
Dichtheid 1.44 g/cm³ ISO 1183

These are typical material values, not finished-part guarantees. The source PDF does not state specimen conditioning; confirm the current TDS and test conditions for the selected formulation.

Choose PA6 GF40 Against the Part Requirement

Glass content is one selection input, not the full specification. Compare the reinforcement level against mold filling, fiber orientation, surface, impact and dimensional requirements.

  • PA6 GF30: review when the part can meet its stiffness target with lower reinforcement and easier processing.
  • PA6 GF40: review when higher rigidity is needed and the mold, gate and part geometry can control fiber orientation and warpage.
  • PA6 GF50: evaluate only after checking flow, weld lines, appearance and tooling requirements.

PA6 GF40 Performance Advantages

High Stiffness-to-Weight Potential

PA6 GF40 biedt superieure mechanische eigenschappen, waaronder een zeer hoge treksterkte en buigmodulus, waardoor het geschikt is voor structurele onderdelen die zware belastingen en hoge spanningen moeten weerstaan.

Thermal Performance by Exact Grade

The heat deflection temperature depends on the final PA6 GF40 formulation, conditioning and ISO 75 test conditions. Confirm the grade-specific TDS and molded-part performance before approving a high-temperature application.

Dimensional Control with Design Review

Glass reinforcement can improve dimensional stability, but PA6 still responds to moisture and fiber orientation. Check conditioning, gate direction and the installed environment before assigning close tolerances.

Chemical and Wear Performance to Be Verified

Chemical and wear suitability depends on the exact compound, mating surface, load, speed and exposure. Review the medium and operating conditions against the selected grade data before approval.

Injection Molding and Part-Design Checks

  • Drying and moisture: follow the selected grade TDS and verify moisture before molding; do not apply a generic setting to every PA6 GF40 compound.
  • Gate and fiber orientation: gate position and flow direction affect stiffness, shrinkage, weld lines and warpage.
  • Wall and transition design: keep wall changes practical and review ribs, bosses and radii for stress concentration and filling.
  • Part validation: approve dimensions and performance on molded parts under the intended conditioning and service environment.

PA6 GF40 Applications

Injection-molded PA6 GF40 applications for automotive and industrial parts

PA6 GF40 is considered for structural automotive, electrical and industrial parts when high rigidity is required. Surface appearance, electrical rating and heat performance must be confirmed for the selected grade.

PA6 GF40 Questions

Q: What does the WHG40A 180°C HDT value mean?
A: It is the typical value reported under ISO 75-2/B (0.45 MPa). Do not compare it directly with data measured at a different load or conditioning state.

Q: What should be checked before choosing GF40 over GF30?
A: Verify stiffness and deflection on the actual part, then check flow, fiber orientation, warpage, surface finish and moisture conditioning. Higher glass content alone does not approve a part.

Request PA6 GF40 TDS, Sample or Quote

For grade selection, send the operating temperature, load, moisture or chemical exposure, color and required documents. For a quotation, add the order quantity, annual volume, destination and target timing.

Samples, timing and documents: Free samples are available for qualified projects. Standard-grade production is normally 5–7 days; custom formulations normally take 2–3 weeks. Material documentation and applicable certifications can be provided for the selected grade. Confirm availability and scope with the technical team.
